Link Punk-folkie Michelle Shocked came out in the mid-80s when she had a few popular hits, among them "Anchorage." Now, she claims she never really was a lesbian. And she's all about the gospel now. Pardon us if we don't quite believe it.
Link This year, a record number of schools (6,000) will be participating in the national "Day of Silence" to protest gay-bashing, harrassment and anti-gay bullying in schools. Former N'Syncer Lance Bass has a PSA on this year's event.
Link A new Harris poll shows that almost twice as many gay and lesbian web surfers read (and write) blogs than straight folks. So thanks for reading this one! Tell your friends about us! But only the queer ones, okay?
Link Latina magazine has apparently just now figured out that Michelle's not quite straight. We know she's been out for quite a while. But frankly, Michelle just wishes the media folks would keep their noses out of her private parts. So to speak, of course.
Link Bill and Hillary's gal (who's grown up to be much prettier than we thought she would) has been investigating the Philly gay scene. No pix yet of her sucking face with a hottie, but we're keeping our eyes peeled.
Link If you've seen "Better Than Chocolate," you know the bookstore we're referring to. After surviving bomb threats and fighting the Canadian government over "obscenity" charges, it's up for sale.

Link If you've already received (and spent) your refund, good for you! If you haven't filed yet, here's some not so joyful news: If you're in a relationship, you are indeed not getting back as much as a straight married couple would.
Link When compared to opposite-sex couples, gay and lesbian relationships have an edge: we know how to compromise. That "go along to get along" thing works. As does asking "Do you want to be right? Or do you want to be happy?"
Link When we're not busy hugging trees, we're often tempted to hump like eco-happy bunnies. But is our snogfest as earth-friendly as it could be? Perhaps that solar vibrator could help.
Link Callie-fornia's Governator has been wishy-washy in the past when it comes to gay rights issues. But this time he says he won't stand for a state amendment to ban gay marriage, saying "I will always be there to fight against that."
Link Welcome to Singapore, where a music video ad featuring two women smooching is some kinda crime against society! Link includes video of the shocking ad itself, which is quite lovely really.
Link A dowry was paid, and they claim to have been married for five years. But two women in Kaduna, Nigeria have been sentenced by an Islamic court to prison and 20 lashes each for having a lesbian relationship.

Link The UK's Manchester-based Lesbian and Gay Foundation is holding a fundraiser that will allow you to purchase your very own lesbian and take her on a date. Among the options: dinner, a movie or a trip to the bowling alley.
Link To all who've been chanting, "We're here, we're queer, we're registered voters", your voice has been heard. For the first time ever, candidates for the US presidency are spending ad dollars in LGBT publications -- in some cases, springing for pricey full-page color adverts.
Link After singlehandedly destroying the Ford Motor company, the American Family Association's next target for boycotting is ripe for attack. McDonald's, the world's largest purveyor of unhealthy fast food, has become a member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC). We've asked McDonald's to send of a copy of the Gay Agenda, and we'll let you know as soon as it arrives.
Link One of the strongest advocates for worldwide human rights will speak at the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission’s annual gala awards ceremony. Says the Archbishop, "I could not have fought against the discrimination of apartheid and not also fight against the discrimination that homosexuals endure, even in our churches and faith groups.”
Link The LGBT politico-religious group, Soulforce, is staging "The American Family Outing" in a few weeks and hopes you'll bring a hot dish to the event. They'll be visiting various mega-churches in the US, family picnic style, with the intent of getting those folks to ditch the anti-gay hatred.
Link No, she wasn't rude to the flight attendant. The issue is that she was allowed to accompany Tammy as a spouse normally would on the Democratic Rep's fact-finding flight to Europe on a military plane. You know, that group with the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
