TAMPA, Florida (AP) -- A Tampa woman has sued a former Carolina Panthers cheerleader for allegedly punching her at a bar.

Police say 26-year-old Melissa Holden was waiting in line in the bathroom of a Tampa bar on November 6th when Victoria Renee Thomas punched her.

Police say cheerleaders Thomas and Angela Keathley emerged from a stall after other patrons yelled at them.

Holden filed the lawsuit Friday. It says Thomas maliciously assaulted her. The University of South Florida student and nurse seeks more than $15,000 for her injuries.

Thomas' attorney, William Bunting Junior declined to comment because he had not seen the lawsuit.

Some witnesses say Thomas and Keathley were having sex in the stall, but Thomas denies that. She and Keathley have since been fired from the Topcats cheerleading squad.
